Can increased roadway guidance, enhanced advance warning for hazards, driver aids and optimized vehicle vision systems really improve safety? Absolutely!
Traffic deaths occur three times more often at night, according the National Safety Council. Nighttime driving isn’t the only hazard the Highway Safety Group is concerned with. We have dedicated our efforts to those systems that genuinely improve guidance, provide situation awareness and advanced warnings to hazards under all conditions, and reduce driver stress and fatigue, too.
The importance of a driver’s ability to see and be seen, stay alert, be aware of their surroundings, remain calm and in a timely manner be able to ascertain changing conditions ahead cannot be overstated.
Using technology and improved practices the Highway Safety Group aspires to turn heretofore unpreventable accidents into preventable ones, while also improving roadway flow, driver safety, productivity and the general welfare of all of our citizens.
Further, we were a charter member of the "Best Highway Safety Practices Institute". A 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to assuring that highway safety policy and practices are based solely on vetted best practice.
